Their phenomenal run has seen the team come out of the final with an unbeaten season, which was only complemented by their almost faultless performance in Welkom.
King’s backline player Selvyn Davids was the game’s top points-scorer converting five of the six tries and two penalty conversions along with scoring a try of his own.
Their semi-final fixture against Limpopo Blue Bulls, played at Port Elizabeth Framesby school grounds was always expected to be a tight game.
The Kings U21 side brought their big match temperment, and fought through to the end of the game with a home-ground advantage.
EP Kings U21 winger Sergeal Petersen has proved to be an asset to the side’s teamwork dynamic, what with his SuperRugby experience and phenomenal off-the-mark acceleration making him one of the team’s strongest runners and finishers.
The U21 Kings have enjoyed scoring tries this year, which made for some understandable disappointed sides, such as the Griffons who conceded nine tries to the men in red-and-black earlier in the season.
