Yesterday, the Rhodes Department of Music and Musicology students mesmerised the audience as they showcased their skills. Twelve different musical pieces were delivered by different individuals on the night.

Siki Qwazi (voice) and Devon Florence (voice), accompanied by Joanna Wicherek (piano) performed Feniculi, fenicula by Luigi Denza.

They set the standard for the night, as Siki, elegantly dressed in red, engaged the audience with her beautiful voice.

Kamogelo Sepotokele (voice), accompanied by Wicherek also kept the audience on their toes as she performed Mein Herr Marquis by Johann Strauss. The students showed great confidence on the stage.

Food donations raised at the concert were to go to the Masincedane soup kitchen.

On Thursday the Department of Music and Musicology will host a bursary fundraising concert by staff and students titled 'An Evening of Musical Journeys and Returns'.

Every Wednesday senior students perform in a series of free lunch hour concerts at the department. All are invited.
