Kingswood in 82-run win against Wynberg Boys

Kingswood College played Waterkloof and Wynberg high schools on Friday in the the Under-19 Coca-Cola T20 Schools Cricket Challenge.

Kingswood College played Waterkloof and Wynberg high schools on Friday in the the Under-19 Coca-Cola T20 Schools Cricket Challenge.

The national finals are currently under way at the University of Pretoria’s LC De Villiers complex. 

Kingswood College are representing the Warriors Franchise and are competing against five other franchise representatives.

The teams are Westville Boys’ High School (The Dolphins), St Stithians (Lions), Kingswood College (Warriors), Hoërskool Waterkloof (Titans), Wynberg Boys’ High School (Cobras) and Grey College (Knights).

The six schools competing all won their own franchise T20 titles, qualifying for the national finals. Each side played two games on Friday 3 October and Saturday and will play one on Sunday. The top two teams will meet in the final on Sunday afternoon.

Summary of the Kingswood Games:

Friday morning:
Kingswood College 105 (Terblanche 3/21, Raseleka 3/28). Waterkloof 106/5 (Malan 30, Raseleka 24). Waterkloof Hoërskool won by 5 wickets (with 26 balls remaining)

Friday afternoon:
Kingswood College 194/2 (Kruger 46 not out, Lombard 110 not out) Wynberg Boys High School 112 all out (Holgate 55, Braans 2/15). Kingswood won by 82 runs.
