The Joza Karate Club held its senior gradings at the Fish River Sun during the South African Shotokan Karate Academy (Saska) Sea Gashuku and grading.

The event was conducted by Shihan Koos Burger, Saska style head. Solomon Kutsi and Bongi Mbangeli successfully passed their grading to 1st kyu, the last brown belt level before 1st Dan black belt.

“This is a great achievement and it’s good for the development of the club,” said head instructor, Sensei Mzwandile Matebese.

“It all comes through hard work, dedication and commitment from these guys”.

Matebese said the next step for the two will be their preparation for the 1st Dan black belt, which they should receive sometime next year.
