The township hopsitality project was established by former premier of the Eastern Cape, Nosimo Balindlela, to spread the benefits of tourism to disadvantaged areas.

Chairperson Buyiswa Gora told Grocott's Mail after the function, “We get people who are just passing through Grahamstown, as well as people visiting the city.”

The importance of user-friendly websites and happy customers to a successful B&B were emphasised.
