A young woman suffered minor injuries when her scooter collided with an oncoming car in Somerset Street, Grahamstown, on Friday 29 August.

Rhodes University Campus Protection Unit Manager, Towers Naidu, said. Naidu said the woman, in her early 20s, appeared shaken when staff from the Unit arrived at the scene, near Rhodes University's Eden Grove.

“We got a call at about 12 that there was an accident near Eden Grove and rushed to the scene," Naidu said.

"Upon our arrival, we called the ambulance and the traffic department.”

In a telephone interview with Grocott’s Mail, Naidu said while the woman had suffered minor injuries, she was traumatised by the incident. Settlers Netcare Private Hospital and the Traffic Department declined to comment.
