It was Friday 22 August at the Rhodes University Health Suite where Rhodes had partnered with local companies to sponsor participants in the Microphithalmia Syndromatic (MLS) Syndrome cyclathon.

All money raised was donated to the We MiND Foundation, a local charity that creates awareness and raises funds for those suffering from various muscle diseases, including Motor Neuron disease and MLS Syndrome.

Albany Sport, Montagu, Red Café, Relish and Twing were among some of the companies that supported athletes taking part in the 12 hour spinning marathon.

The event was organised to raise funds for the research of the rare disease.

Pulsating pop tracks encouraged participants cycling for the good cause.
