The home of a Joza man damaged by a bread truck remains in shocking condition, more than a week after the vehicle rammed into it.

Zola Sintwa, owner of the house which faces the busy Ncame Street, told Grocott's Mail yesterday that he put up plastic sheeting and other material to make sure the rain does not come into the house.

"I'm putting up stuff to close the big hole opened by that truck on my wall," he said.

Sintwa said he had tried to approach the bread truck's insurance company himself, with no results to date.

"I did not want to be pushy with them, but I don't know what else to do."

Owner of the Simply Fresh Food Company, Thana Pillay, which is an agent of Sasko assured Sintwa that their insurance would pay for repairs to his home, damaged 22 July when the truck rammed into it.

Pillay told Grocott's yesterday that he was very upset about the delays, adding that the insurance company had not yet fixed his truck.

"The vehicle assessor from PE only arrived this morning (Thursday) to look at the car. I'm very concerned about what is happening but I understand the processes involved in insurance claims."

"They must repair his house," he said.

Pillay referred further enquiries to his insurance company, but they had not commented at the time of going to press.
