    The Mpekweni Mountain Bike Classic two-day event consisted of hard and muddy riding following the recent heavy rains. The Mpekweni MTB classic is a two-day stage race in the heart of the Sunshine Coast that took place during the weekend of 26 April.

    The Mpekweni Mountain Bike Classic two-day event consisted of hard and muddy riding following the recent heavy rains. The Mpekweni MTB classic is a two-day stage race in the heart of the Sunshine Coast that took place during the weekend of 26 April.

    Janneman van der Merwe and his daughter Tegan (16) from DSG, picture below, were placed second in the mixed category.

    The route took riders through the old Ciskei farms and offered some of the most pristine single tracks, breath-taking views, river crossings and some of the best jeep tracks in the Eastern Cape.

    Both stages started and finished at the Mpekweni Beach Resort.
