Chester Missing is South Africa’s hottest new puppet political analyst and Conrad Koch, South Africa’s top comedy ventriloquist, rides on this puppet’s fame. Koch calls it PEE fronting: Puppet Economic Empowerment.

Famous for live performances and being a guest on Talk Radio 702, Chester Missing was the first puppet officially allowed media access to the ANC’S 2012 conference in Manguang and the 2014 State of the Nation Address. And now this puppet has written a book.

Koch uses his Masters degree in social anthropology, combining this with fantastic political satire presented by Chester Missing to look at South African history and how South Africa democracy works (or doesn’t).

Chester Missing picks on parties and politicians and tastefully mixes the serious with his sharp sense of humour.
He notes that it’s one’s job to look at what sort of country you want to live in and then choose the people whose lies seem the most plausible.

The reader will also be introduced to the top six positions in the ANC.

You’ll be grinning from ear to ear and smirking as you read.

On talking about the ANC Women’s league, Chester Missing looks at their uniforms and says, “a dysfunctional mistake involving green and black really does make them look like an army of ageing Christmas elves”.

The book features cartoons by Zapiro. Koch said he asked Zapiro to help him with the cartoons because he knows if a politician reads the book they will need pictures to help them concentrate, and because Zapiro is his favourite satirical apartheid beneficiary.

Koch and Chester Missing have lived up to their hopes, presenting the most entertaining explanation of who to vote for and why.

This book will be on coffee tables well after the 2014 elections. Chester Missing can be found on twitter at @chestermissing.
