    VP girl brings home silver

    Toni Rafferty of Victoria Primary School brought home a silver medal from the National Schools Athletics Championships held in Paarl on Saturday 22 March.

    Toni Rafferty of Victoria Primary School brought home a silver medal from the National Schools Athletics Championships held in Paarl on Saturday 22 March.

    Toni was the only Grahamstown primary school pupil to represent Eastern Province at the event. Toni won the silver medal after finishing second in the final of the U13, 1 500m race, bettering her previous best time for the distance by over 10 seconds. 

    Earlier in the morning Toni won her heat to make the afternoon final, where she finished in a time of 4 minutes 48,41 seconds. 

    On her way to making the EP selection, Toni won the 1500m at the Albany, Cacadu and Eastern Cape championships over the past few weeks.
