The South African Air Force's display team called the Silver Falcons treated Grahamstown citizens to a surprise performance on Tuesday 18 March as part of the closing ceremony for Scifest Africa 2014.

The fly-over, which was not featured on the Scifest programme, was a "gift for the city of Grahamstown", says Scifest media officer Joy Matambo.

Matambo also said the show might form a part of the official programme for next year, with a bigger and better show.

The Silver Falcons performed their tricks in Pilatus PC-7 MkII aircraft.  "It went off very well," said Matambo.
