The Rotary Club of Grahamstown Sunset is bringing Centrestage to Grahamstown's Monument Theatre on 22 February, for one of the most popular of all concert evenings – Absolutely Abba.

The show will feature popular Abba hits such as Waterloo, Super Trooper, Chiquitita, Mama Mia, Fernando, SOS, Voulez Vouz and Dancing Queen, among others.

A resurgence in the popularity of Abba's songs came with the movie Mamma Mia. The 2006 Abba tribute at the Monument Theatre was a sell-out.

Centrestage, the Port Elizabeth entertainment company, has wowed Grahamstown audiences over the years, and is a regular National Arts Festival sensation.

The Abba show cast of ten features the fronting vocals of the power-packed trio of Donna Africa, Tara-Jane Metzler and Caron Strydom. The original role of drummer falls once again to the multi-talented Gino Fabbri, while bassist, Andre Strydom, and musical director, Wayne Kallis, appear once more as the male Abba counterparts Bennie and Björn.

The Rotary Club of Grahamstown Sunset has brought numerous Centrestage shows to town over the years and the concerts' proceeds go towards community projects, often as seed capital for matching grants from overseas Rotary Clubs and the Rotary Foundation. The Club is currently fund-raising for a grant towards Grahamstown Hospice programmes.

Tickets are R100 and are available from Albany Sports, Jenny Gopal Optometrists, PG Glass, Kodak, King Pie, Pam Golding Properties and Postnet.
