In a statement, provincial secretary Oscar Mabuyane said they were expecting thousands of ANC members and supporters.
He said high level security has been organised for the event and is prepared to deal with "any unbecoming conduct, boo-ing and hooliganism."
Sara Baartman regional secretary Scara Njadayi told Grocott's Mail that 1000 delegates from the region will be going to the rally.
150 of those are from the Makana sub-region.
"Transport will be provided by the provincial ANC," he said, urging those who need it to contact their ANC regional office.
He said President Jacob Zuma would be the keynote speaker.
Meanwhile the DA is set to have its own Makana roadshow starting this weekend.
Party local leader Les Reynolds said the DA is shifting into top gear in its campaign for the forthcoming national elections.
"To this end Athol Trollip our Eastern Cape leader has agreed to do a roadshow in Makana this coming Saturday," he said in a statement.
Reynolds said the roadshow will start in Alicedale at 10am then move onto Riebeeck East in the afternoon, before returning to Grahamstown for a public meeting in the Recreation Hall in Albany Road at 4.30pm.
"It is going to be very exciting to meet and greet with Athol as he is well known as an excellent and interesting public speaker," Reynolds said.
Reynolds invited local citizens to attend the roadshows to listen to Trollip’s views on the state of the nation.
