Fort England hospital staff and patients’ choirs united to perform at the mental health and quality assurance awareness day on Wednesday 4 December.
The hospital organised this awareness day to challenge the stigmas of mental illness in our community.
Other activities included talks by a patient and parent on destigmatising mental illness and a reading of the Patients' Rights Charter. Dr Roger Walsh, Fort England CEO, also presented a list of quality improvements projects of the last year.
These included a new gym, crèche, planting 100 indigenous trees around the property and the creation of a hospital newsletter.
Fort England employs 398 staff members, has 313 beds and 100 outpatients.
