This week two new candidates rose to prominence for the Grocott's Mail Newsmaker of the Year award for 2013.

Remember that we are not looking for any special qualities other than newsworthiness. Clearly you can make the news for good reasons, bad reasons or a mix of both.

We are looking for an individual who featured prominently in our news coverage this year.

Share your thoughts with us, let us know who you think deserves the honour.
