Grahamstown professional boxer, Vuyani Swartbooi, lost on points against Asandiso Mancapha at a tournament at Jeff Masemola Hall in Uitenhage on Saturday 9 November.
The tournament was organised by Silindokuhle Boxing Promotion.
Trainer Bulelani Ndwayana said the fight was hard for Swartbooi, who'd been fighting against an experienced boxer. He said Mancapha was a skilled boxer and the fight was a fair match.
"Both boxers were very strong. It's just that Swartbooi was given a hard time in many of the rounds," he said.
He said from the beginning of the first round Mancapha was putting pressure on Swartbooi.
"We saw Swartbooi falling in the ring – twice in one round and again in round three," he said.
Mancapha won the four-round fight on points.
