In broad daylight, a shop manager was robbed of R21 000 in takings from two bottle stores on Thursday 7 November.

The man, an assistant manager of two bottle stores, said he was taking the cash generated from the stores to a secure location when he was accosted by two men.

The incident occurred in George Street around 10am last Thursday. Magobiyane said two men greeted him and passed by as he got out of his car.

He said he crossed the road, carrying the cash in a plastic bag. As he pressed the buzzer of the gate he felt a tap on his right shoulder.

"When I turned around to the right to check, the money was snatched from my left side."

The robber ran away and got into a white Polo Vivo waiting for him at the end of the street, the shop manager said. Police spokesperson Mali Govender said a case of robbery is under investigation. Police are looking for two suspects.
