Police are looking for two women who robbed a Fitzroy Street home and walked away with valuables worth R20 000.
The house is currently on sale and the suspects took advantage by pretending to be potential buyers. The incident occurred around 2pm last Thursday 7 November.
Owner Anna Christensen, who was away at the time, said, "They dressed well and pretended to be interested in purchasing the property, so my domestic worker let them in and showed them around."
Christensen said the suspects took an iPad and her jewellery, which were on top of her dresser.
The domestic worker noticed that something was amiss shortly after the suspects had left the house, and pressed the panic button.
Commenting this week on the incident, security company Hi-Tec's Kenny Knoetze said organised crime is rife during this time of the year in suburbs.
He said he believes the women were part of a syndicate targeting parts of Grahamstown West.
"These guys are very smart because they hit a certain area for a long time. When we shift our focus to there, with our vehicles patrolling there, they then hit a different spot."
Knoetze said the suspects had fled in a white Polo with two men in it, waiting outside the premises.
Christensen reported the matter to the police and a case has been opened.
