Grahamstown is now home to SA's U17 Miss Physique body builder and two other first-place title holders after the South African Natural Body Building Championships.

Makana Natural Body Building and Fitness Club members Adam Wicks, Luke Hall and Kirsten Juries all won gold at the recent SA champs held in Belville, Western Cape.

Juries took the women's U17 Miss Physique trophy, while Wicks won the U17 category and Hall was top of the U15s.
Older Makana club members also did well at the competition.

Lee Mapaling finished third in the U21 section, and together with Juries they took second spot in the couples section.

In the masters (40 to 49) category Johan Botha finished in third place.

Lesley Sauls finished in sixth spot in the bantam weight category.

Weston du Plessis, president of the club, said it was a great opportunity for the athletes, adding that they'd learnt a lot from the experience.

Du Plessis said they will now prepare for next year's events.
