The final race of the Grahamstown Racing Pigeon season took place on Saturday 5 October from Warrenton – the fourth from that venue. The total distance covered was 604km.

This was the 19th race of the season. Birds were released at 6.30am, with prevailing weather conditions at both release and arrival points being hot.

The first bird in the any age category, a red hen, was clocked by Lorenzo Doyle, the club race secretary, at 1.41.24pm recording a velocity of 1 383.4956 metres per minute (83km/h).

This bird was followed one minute and forty nine seconds later by the blue bar pied hen of club chairman, Andley Jeggels.

The first 10 positions were dominated by Doyle and Bailie, who each took four positions.

In the yearling event Lorenzo Doyle took top honours once again when his light check hen hit his electronic landing board at 1.29.51pm, followed 26 minutes later by a bird belonging to Lukas Meyer, giving Doyle an outright victory. Over and above this, Doyle attained three positions in the top 10.
