Artists, artisans and green thumbs came from all over for the Hogsback Arts Spring Festival running from last Saturday 21 September until Heritage Day.

Visitors enjoyed a mixture of multi-cultural events in the village among the mountains, as well as guided tours of beautiful and historic gardens by the Hogsback Garden Club.

The Gardens of Hogsback will be showcased until 31 October. Visitors can purchase unguided tour tickets from the information centre.

Festivities also included a potjie kos competition, cultural cuisine tasting and art in the park.

At The Edge Mountain Retreat, port and champagne tasters were on offer for those visiting the azalea and bonsai exhibition at their conference centre.

Eastern Cape crafters were there to peddle their wares, including a wool spinner from Port Elizabeth who gave spinning demonstrations.

The spring festival was sponsored by the National Arts Council, Eastern Cape Provincial Arts & Culture Council and Hogsback Chamber of Business.
