We are fortunate in South Africa to be able to stand on the shoulders of prophets and presidents, who have shown us a future in which we can believe.
Our past president Nelson Mandela, has been an inspiration to so many for that reason. His vision was large enough for all of us, as out of a place of struggle and conflict, he sought to reconcile this nation.
Another leader who has helped inspire his people is the prophet Isaiah. Out of a place of pain, he pointed to a time when the wolf would lie down with the lamb, and the lion eat straw like the ox, for no one will be harmed on God's holy mountain.
We give thanks to God for these visionaries, that through them we find hope.
