The non-profit HIV and AIDS clinic Raphael Centre held their fourth Siyaphumelela Camp at Hobbiton-at-Fairewood this week.
The camp was developed to provide support for children who have been affected and orphaned by HIV and AIDS.
Young people between the ages of 15 and 18 spent the week doing teamwork exercises, adventure sports and developing survival skills.
The main purpose of the camp was HIV education, but workshops also covered topics like sexuality and relationships, teenage pregnancy and homophobia.
"The goal is to see them being leaders in the community and change their situations in their families," says Nondumiso Pinyana, the orphan and vulnerable children coordinator at the centre.
