A 23-year-old man appeared in the Grahamstown Magistrate's court yesterday on charges of possession of dagga.

Police spokesperson Captain Mali Govender said the Grahamstown Highway Patrol had arrested the 23-year-old man while he was driving a truck on Dr Jacob Zuma Drive around 4.15am on Wednesday.

"The truck had three bags of dagga which were packed among dairy products," Govender said.

The street value of the dagga is R30 600.

The man appeared in court yesterday.
