Hear ye! Hear ye! Word has it that there are handsome knights and fair maidens heading for Grahamstown for a medieval gathering that will include feasting and merrymaking of an authentic nature.

Hear ye! Hear ye! Word has it that there are handsome knights and fair maidens heading for Grahamstown for a medieval gathering that will include feasting and merrymaking of an authentic nature.

The Rotary Club of Grahamstown Sunset will be hosting a Medieval Dinner tomorrow at Memory Hall at St Andrew's Prep, where revellers will be treated to the entertainment of historical re-enactment specialist, Basil Mills.

Guests will be expected to dress in period costume, be it fine gowns or the simple garments of peasants. Failing to dress up could mean a stint in the stocks.

Tickets for this merry event can be bought at Jenny Gopal Optometrists, Albany Sports and Dupliprint.

Guests will be expected to bring along their own grog and goblets, but a most splendid feast fit for the king and queen (who will be in attendance) will be served to you by wenches of the castle.

Suitable garments for the event will available from costume specialists who are willing to come to Grahamstown to ensure that you are appropriately clothed to be brought before the king and queen.

Phone 046 622 3994 for details (or send your carrier pidgeon).

Perchance we will meet then on 2 March for ale and merriment!
