Grahamstown wind energy project, Terra Power Solutions, has built three new structures for the Little Flower Day Care Centre in Extension 7 in time for the new school year.

The award-winning nursery school had been serving 40 children, from a single room in a small RDP house.

Company director Andrew de Jager said this week that materials for the buildings – which now house a kitchen, office and proper toilet facilities, in addition to a classroom – were donated by Makana Brick.

The school has started a toddler group, for children aged nine months to two years, and has two classes for children from three to seven.Little Flower Day Care Centre came third in the Best Early Childhood Development Centre category at the 2012 Eastern Cape Early Childhood Development (ECD) Awards in November.
