Patients at the Temba Santa TB Hospital in Fingo Village had an entertaining and informative line-up of local entertainers drop by for a visit on Wednesday morning this week.

The artists including an actor, motivational speaker and comedian all went to share their talents, insights and support for the patients.

The event was organised and hosted by well-known local drama practitioner and Rhodes Music Radio presenter Luzuko Yafele.

Yafele addressed the patients and encouraged them to be honest and say what they feel. Voicing your innermost problems is part of the healing process, he said.

The nurses at the TB hospital can try their best to heal patients, but the people in their care need to work with them to meet each other half way, Yafele said.

"We are here to give and share humanity with you from the bottom of our hearts." The patients still have plenty of time left to achieve whatever they want in their lives, Yafele reminded them.

"God has a purpose for everyone on this planet – we must be strong and happy every day."

Then stand-up comedian Tsepiso Nzayo took the stage and had his audience in stitches with his isiXhosa comedy.

One of the motivational speakers, Mimi Lesoro, also took to the stage and appealed to the patients to trust their nurses always take their medication.

"Trust can bring peace to us and in that way we can easily be healed," she said.

Themba Hospital sister Vuyelwa Mjuleni thanked all the artists who came to share their knowledge and time.

"I thank you for the health education you gave to our patients," she said. "They were listening with interest – you could see that they were concentrating on the talks."
