Rhodes University walked away with three medals at last week's University Sport South Africa (USSA) National Institutional Supa-Pool Championship.

Rhodes University walked away with three medals at last week's University Sport South Africa (USSA) National Institutional Supa-Pool Championship.

Rhodes hosted the event in conjunction with USSA. All matches took place at the Alec Mullins Hall on campus. Cwenga Blekiwe was the top-ranked singles player from Rhodes in the tournament, winning the championship bronze medal.

Fellow Rhodes student Zweli Hlatshwayo was the number one ranked team player at the end of the tournament.

The Rhodes team consisting of Blekiwe, Shaun Gordon, Manqoba and Zweli Hlatshwayo and Marc Jacobs took bronze in the team competition.

The Supa-Pool champs were played under Black Ball rules and took place from Monday, 3 December until last Friday, ending with a prize-giving ceremony after the final matches.
