Kingswood College's first cricket team lost to Grey College in their inter-schools match on Saturday. The match was played on Kingswood's Gane Field. Kingswood did not hesitate to bat first on what looked like a brilliant cricket pitch. The Grey bowlers were clinical in their accuracy, and some soft dismissals at regular intervals pegged Kingswood back. Kingswood struggled to gain momentum throughout the innings and were eventually bowled out for 104. None of the Kingswood batters were able to make significant contributions to the total, although Marco Lombard seemed like he was determined to hold up one end.

In reply the Kingswood bowlers realised that they needed to come hard at Grey early on, and try make something out of the ordinary happen. Anelisa Mteto started off with a fiery spell of seam bowling as he gave Kingswood a glimmer of hope with Grey at 2/1 and then 12/2. However Grey steadied their innings and went on to enjoy a comfortable 8-wicket win.
