Canon Nancy Charton, one of the first women to be ordained a priest in the Anglican Church of South Africa, will preach on Sunday at a service celebrating the 20th anniversay of the ordination of women.

Canon Nancy Charton, one of the first women to be ordained a priest in the Anglican Church of South Africa, will preach on Sunday at a service celebrating the 20th anniversay of the ordination of women.

Charton also has been a pioneer in fields from social activism to academia. She was one of the first women to be ordained as both a deacon and a priest. The service at the Cathedral of St Michael and St George begins at 9.30am.
