New to the National Arts Festival this year, is an exciting range of helicopter activities on offer by Heli-Link and Aptrac Aviation.

In addition to lodge transfers to Kichaka, as well as airport transfers between Grahamstown, Port Alfred, Port Elizabeth and East London, there is a selection of adventurous scenic flights to choose from. Passengers are given an opportunity to explore the magnificent views of the city from the air, as well as the breathtaking mountain ridges surrounding Grahamstown.

For the more adventurous, Heli-Link and EP Skydivers have partnered to provide a combination of a scenic helicopter flight and a 35-second free-fall skydive jump from 10 000 feet. The helicopter that Heli-Link and Aptrac have chosen to operate for the Festival ensures that all passengers have access to prime window seating.

The helicopter’s doors are also removed to enhance the experience, should any passenger request it. All flights depart daily from the team’s Heli-pad at the St Andrew’s/ DSG field on the corner of South and African Streets, opposite the Transnet Village Green at Rhodes University. Flights can be booked through Computicket or at the heli-pad and information about the flights on offer are available either from Heli-Link’s website, or by visiting the team at the Heli-Pad itself.

This is an unforgettable opportunity for the whole family and with ticket prices starting at R219 a person, it's far more affordable than one might think.
