Local playwright Thembani Zion Eyes Onceya describes his 2012 Festival production as a social political story combined with history and spiritualism to reflect on past – and future – World Wars.

italWorld Revolutionital promises to be explosive, he said, and tells the story of characters King Barb, General, Madonna, Queen Solyana and Rabel.

In an interview with Grocott's Mail on Friday, Onceya said his play is about soldiers of an intellectual army who are fighting against their oppressor, King Barb.

Despite being the man who manipulated their forefathers and destroyed their cultures, King Barb tries to wheedle his way into the intellectual army to cause even more trouble and pain to the other characters.
Who will survive this battle, and what lessons can be learnt from it?

Onceya said his show, directed by Bongani Diko, is a must-see that reveals his predictions of what could happen during World War Three. He believes that spiritual neglect and people's bad behaviour are things that could lead the world into such a catastrophe.

Onceya thanked Makana Municipality and the Eastern Cape Arts and Culture Council for helping to fund his production, however he says he can't be sure the show continue Festival because of financial limitations.
We are struggling with funders during the year and those who are willing to help only come when it's time for the National Arts festival, he said.

Six performances of this show at the Masonic Hall will be staged in English with isiXhosa during the Festival.
