Warren Schmidt started at VG in January 2002 as an English and Life Orientation teacher.

In 2003 he was appointed Deputy Principal and since that time managed not only his teaching commitments, but both the Discipline and Academic portfolios of the school. Currently Schmidt teaches History.

With the support of Acting Deputy Principal Anna Retief, the team of HoDs, the staff of VG, the SGB and the parents, I am sure VG will maintain its traditions of academic, cultural and sporting excellence, Schmidt said.
Apart from being acknowledged as a dynamic and inspiring teacher Schmidt has, over the years helped organise many school functions and established general knowledge competitions for pupils.

He said exciting projects on the horizon included the development of the school's Music School.
