Traffic officer Terrence Bafo, once again appeared in the Grahamstown Magistrate's Court last Friday. Bafo allegedly assaulted a 58-year-old Riebeeck East farmer the previous day.

Grahamstown police spokesperson, Mali Govender, said the farmer claimed Bafo had been driving behind him as they were approaching a set of traffic lights in High Street.

"As the robots were still green the man went through," Govender said.

"The man claimed Bafo arrived at the traffic light when it was already red, but had jumped it to block his way," said Govender.

The man said Bafo had slapped him in front of people in High Street and had sworn at him, saying that he (Bafo) was not one of the man's farmworkers.

Magistrate Ronny Lesele postponed the case to 15 May for further investigation and to allow Bafo time to appoint an attorney. Bafo, also 58 years old, is out on warning.

    Bafo’s court run-in’s on Dipity.
