Benson, from Port Alfred, bought Revolution from Paul and Karin Davies. “I want to work for myself,” she said. She has worked in the hotel industry for 25 years, amongst others for Southern Sun International and the Holiday Inn group.
The Revolution staff will stay on under their same contracts, but the building will undergo minor revamp and a change of décor. The furniture will stay, but many of the wall art will go, and the entire place will be repainted. “
We want to make the place more visible,” said Benson as she explained how the current wall in front of the shop will become a frosted glass front.
Essentially Revelations will remain a coffee shop, but the menu will be expanded to offer more options and the opening hours of certain days will be extended to 10.30pm from 1 May.
