Finals of the annual Port Alfred and Bathurst Cricket Tournament, known as Pineapple Week, were played last weekend at the Port Alfred Country Club.

Manley Flats beat Sidbury, with Manley Flats players also scooping a number of awards. In the final game, Sidbury batted first and made 125 all out with Matt Helm making 44 and Jono Davy taking three wickets. Manley Flats replied with 126/5.

Wayne Wiblin made a half-century in the 48th over, as Manley Flats won by five wickets. Jono Davy, of Manley Flats, was named man of the match. The plate-final was won by Port Alfred, playing the Grahamstown Invitation team.

The Rhodes Shrews won the second league final, beating Station Hill. At the prize-giving, former Border cricket player, Wayne Wiblin, walked away with a number of awards, after helping his side (Manley Flats) in winning the final.

His awards included the highest score (125), most sixes (11), highest aggregate opening batsman, overall and in section A (232), highest batting average (77.3) and the most runs in boundaries (164). Andrew Marshall (Manley Flats) was named the best all-rounder of the tournament.

At the conclusion of the Pineapple tournament, players were named for a ceremonial dream team for the first time since 1988.
