The assessment team said of Kingswood's portfolio, submitted in late 2011, It is a great portfolio that shows an enthusiastic commitment to positive environmental change, both in theory and practice, through learning which is entrenched in school processes.

There is clearly a deliberate shift towards changing minds and habits for a more sustainable livelihood. We commend Kingswood College for always championing the environmental cause. The school is sending a clear message to the whole world that we all have a responsibility to save our planet Earth.

The Eco-Schools Programme was launched in South Africa in 2003. It is supported by World Wildlife Fund SA and the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (Wessa), endorsed by the Department of Education and funded by Pareto, Nedbank Green Trust and other partner organisations.
