AND Youth leader in the region, Councillor Mthuthuzeli Matyumza, briefly tells Grocott's Mail's Prudence Mini what he valued the most about attending the recent ANC centenary celebrations at Mangaung in Bloemfontein.

Was it useful to attend the ANC celebrations in Mangaung? Yes. It was for us young people to be counted as part of the ANC, as the ANC celebrates it's 100 years. So the trip gave us information on the heritage of the ANC. We were glad in the manner that the President articulated the ANC history and the role that the Youth League played in that history. So there is no struggle without young people.

Other highlights? There was nothing new on revolutionary issues, but I am just happy to be counted as part of the ANC history. The ANC celebrations are not over. There will be a programme of celebrations in regions, sub-regions and branches.

What is the one thing you will not forget from your time in Mangaung? I will never forget that wealthy heritage of the ANC. It was visible everywhere during the weekend. The ANC has an expensive history.
