Run/Walk For Life Grahamstown held its annual awards function recently, where the club's members are awarded for various achievements. The club is made up of the Athletics Club as well as the Fitness and Weight Loss Programme.

The following awards were given at the Run/Walk For Life Grahamstown Branch Awards:

Most distance by a female runner/walker: Madyke Mokorosi (484km)

Most distance by a male runner: Joubert Retief (568km)

Most distance by a female runner: Danika Marquis (649km)

Most distance by a female walker: Lynette Louw (71km)

Most enthusiastic members: Natasha Agnew and Eulene Jacobs

Most Weight Lost – Manie Cronje

Most determined – Vernon Jones and Samuel Gill

Most improved – Carol Jones and Anna Retief

Performance of the Year – Amy Taylor (completing the Two Oceans half marathon)

Most Dedicated Member – Madyke Mokorosi (has been a member of Run/Walk For Life since it began in Grahamstown in 2007, attended 396 sessions and covered a total distance of 2 216km).

The Fitness and Weight Loss Programme involves an exercise plan for three days of the week. All of the walking and running programmes suit any age or fitness level and promotes weight loss, stress relief and many other benefits.

The Run/Walk For Life programme is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels as well as for pregnant women. For those who are already fit, Run/Walk For Life offers advanced fitness training too.

The Run/Walk For Life Grahamstown Fitness and Weight Loss Programme is currently running a special.
