Another weekend of Makana Local Football Association (LFA) league matches is over, and some enthralling duals threw up plenty of goals, controversial incidents and hostile match-ups.

The league served up 75 goals, almost double last week's goal tally, and coaches must be concerned at the amount of goals being allowed by their teams. Love and Peace, Golden Stars and the Black Stars each played two matches this past weekend to catch up with the rest – due to the fact that a few of their matches had been abandoned at the start of the season. In the league's big games of the weekend, Makana Municipality came from being one goal behind in their match against Italy, to going home with a hard earned 3-1 victory.

Defending champions, Cameroon recovered from last week's defeat at the hands of high flying Makana Municipality, with a 2-0 score against the Ext 9 Attackers. Makana LFA secretary, Thandazile Madinda told Grocott's Mail about a particularly problematic game that took place last weekend. "The match featuring Makana Municipality and Italy was almost abandoned three times by the referee, as the tension and the hostile nature of the match was just getting out of hand," he said.

He also believed that this was the match of the season so far. "If teams behave like Italy did we are going to have a problem, but besides that the league is getting better as all the matches this weekend went ahead as planned," Madinda said. Makana Municipality still occupies the top spot in Stream B after their seventh victory in as many games, and they are one of only two teams in the league who have not lost a match this season, the other team being the Mighty Chiefs who are leading Stream A.

It's a pity the only time these two can meet is in the play-offs which will be next year. Black Stars are the only team in the league not to have picked up a point, as they have lost all the seven matches they played this season.
