Professional Grahamstown boxer, Ndudumo Lolwana, says he is fit and ready to win his fight at the Masizakhe Boxing Promotion tournament in Uitenhage tomorrow.
The tournament will take place at the Jeff Masemola Hall in Tize Road, and Grahamstown's Flying Tiger will be fighting four rounds against Rodney Smith from Uitenhage. He has fought only two fights as a professional boxer, resulting in one win and one draw.
At an interview with Grocott's Mail, Lolwana said that he had been preparing for the fight since he was approved. “I promise the community of Grahamstown that I won't disappoint them from the record they saw last week,” said Lolwana. Other Grahamstown professional boxers, Mzoxolo Ndwayana and Masonwabe Mgcuwe, won their bouts at last week's event hosted in Grahamstown.
Lolwana said that he longs to win a title in the near future.
His coach, Given Faxi, said that they've been preparing for this fight to bring back the glory into Grahamstown boxing. “Once we win this fight we will be opening the doors of going and taking Mdantsane boxers down,” said Faxi. He added that the Grahamstown community should have hope in boxing.
He concluded that Lolwana and Smith will be boxing in the light weight category and they are going to scale today.
