Kwandwe Game Reserve turns 10 this month and is celebrating with a series of 10 promotions over the next 10 months.

The festivities start with Great Fish River Lodge, where guests have been enjoying 10-course tasting menus paired with 10 great SA wines, along with 10 different sparkling cocktails.

December sees the launch of the Sleep Out, where guests can overnight in a remote part of the reserve, in comfy beds on raised wooden decks, with just a mosquito net between them and the stars.

The Floating Pontoon follows a similar theme on a natural lake, away from the main lodges. Rangers will also be camped nearby, within radio distance.

Other celebratory plans include the refurbishment of Uplands Homestead and Great Fish River Lodge. The reserve will also welcome in more than 400 head of game, following the excellent winter rains; there will be the launch of a new website and branding; in-house chef training with two of South Africa's top chefs, Scott Rattray and Michael Broughton, and two community initiatives to support educational and rainwater-harvesting programmes.
