There were some closely contested matches in the 4th round of the Local Football Association (LFA) Makana League last weekend.

In arguably the most exciting match, defending champions Cameroon beat Young Killers 4-3, building on their good early season form.

On the down side, however, team officials for Cameroon were reported to the league's disciplinary committee for unsporting behaviour.

Also, some teams did not show up for their games, continuing a trend that has plagued the league since the start of the season.

Matches involving Rhodes University and Eastcape Midlands College have been postponed as a decision on their participation is still pending.

Makana LFA secretary, Thandazile Madinda, said: "Rhodes had a meeting on Tuesday to resolve their participation in the league, so we are waiting on them."

Results:
Makana Pillars 1-1 Shooting Stars
Linge Stars 5-1 Early Birds
Chelsea 3-0 Love Peace
Santos 3-3 Might Chiefs
Cameroon 4-3 Young Killers
Joza Callies1-2 Municipality
Italy 3-3 New Town City

Matches that were not played due to teams not turning up:
Arsenal-Black Stars
Golden Stars-Royals
Young Stars-Seekers
