The Makana boys were much taller than the Mnquma boys and they used this to their advantage. The coach of the Mnquma boys, Somhlatlo Ngitla commented, “My boys could not play their normal football because the Makana boys are much taller than them.”

The final game of the day saw the two U17 teams facing off, and the Makana side ran on to the field, singing and full of confidence. They won 3-2.

The head coach of Makana U17, Dumisani Sole, said, “The boys played very well, but I believe they can do much better than this."

On Sunday the sides played their last games, but this time around they were nearly caught by their opponents, as the U13s' match ended in a 1-1 draw and the U15 side also drew 1-1. However, the Makana U17s outclassed the Mnquma boys 4-1.

Anga Ncebetsha, an official at the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, said, “I'm happy the way all the boys played. We have set a high standard. We are looking forward to have the second round of these games in Makana next year."

President of Mnquma Local Football Association, Mbongeni Mathanga, said, "I'm very happy that we have this kind of relationship with the Makana LFA, as our boys will become better footballers. And well done to the Makana boys!"
