Jan Smuts House walked away champions of the Galela Amanzi Dodgeball Competition for the second year in a row. The annual competition raises funds for the Rhodes University student project that installs rainwater tanks in disadvantaged regions in Grahamstown.
Jan Smuts House walked away champions of the Galela Amanzi Dodgeball Competition for the second year in a row. The annual competition raises funds for the Rhodes University student project that installs rainwater tanks in disadvantaged regions in Grahamstown.
The tanks are used by residents for irrigation, cooking and drinking water.
Thomas Pringle House were runners-up and White House digs came in third.
Project coordinator Jai Clifford-Holmes said Clifford-Holmes said, “[Dodgeball] is a sport that doesn’t take itself too seriously. We have people entering just for fun, so it appeals to lots of people.”
Clifford-Holmes said the successful tournament had generated income and that those who participated had enjoyed it. When asked why the project had decided to stage the odd sport of dodgeball,
