With a week to go before the 2011 Rugby World Cup kicks off in New Zealand, Cabinet has called on the nation to stand behind the Springbok team in their quest to defend their World Cup title.

“Cabinet calls on all South Africans to play your part, by uniting behind the finally selected national rugby team, the Springboks, ahead of next week's Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand,” cabinet spokesperson Jimmy Manyi told a post-cabinet media briefing last week.

South Africans can show their support by wearing green and official Springbok merchandise, every Friday until the end of the Rugby World Cup tournament in October.
