A woman was injured and taken to Settlers' Hospital on Wednesday morning, after a gold VW Polo and white Toyota Venture collided at the Dr Jacob Zuma Drive (former Raglan Road) and Albert Road intersection.

The driver of the Toyota Venture, who uses this vehicle as a taxi, said he was coming down Dr Jacob Zuma Drive when the Polo turned the corner and drove into him.

The taxi driver said that he was carrying nine passengers on their way to work, while the driver of the Polo said that he was the only occupant in the car.

Both drivers refused to reveal their names to Grocott's Mail.

Police officials that arrived on the scene were unwilling to talk to our reporter, but SAPS spokesperson Captain Mali Govender stated that, "Police cannot comment on the accident as it would be prejudice towards the parties involved, because at the moment we don't know if it's just an accident or a criminal case.''

Grocott's Mail observed that traffic officers conducted a breathalyser test on at least one of the drivers at the scene of the accident.
