The son of a renowned Grahamstown police officer has been charged with dealing in drugs.

The son of a renowned Grahamstown police officer has been charged with dealing in drugs.

Calvin Govender, the son of police spokeswoman Captain Mali Govender, was arrested in Port Alfred on 10 August in a sting operation.

Kelly Vivier and Justin Cassen, were also arrested in Bathurst on the same day during the same operation.

Eastern Cape Police spokesperson Brigadier Miranda Mills said the three were suspected of dealing in cocaine.

"They have all three appeared in court already. Govender was released on R1000 bail and Vivier and Cassen on R500 each," said Mills.

All three will appear in the Port Alfred Magistrate's Court on 15 August.
