Do you have fabric, beads or wool to spare? The Raglan Road Multi-Purpose Centre is appealing to members of the public for these items because they've run out of materials.

Twenty-five elderly people come to the centre to work on sewing, arts and crafts and the centre also has a vegetable garden to help feed the 130 children, aged three to six, who attend its school. "Even the sewing machines are broken," Nomaphelo Belwana told Grocott's Mail this week.

“We are dependent on a subsidy from the Department of Social Development, but it is not enough to cover all of the projects.” "Without materials there isn’t much the project workers can do and they therefore have no income. It is the elderly who suffers the most,” Belwana said.
